We all like to look our best as often as we can and cosmetic tattoos offer a great shortcut to having that "I woke up like this" look without the daily hassle of makeup application. As with all permanent and long lasting treatments we encourage you to do as much research as possible so you feel comfortable with your decision and the overall end results. Scheduling a consultation can help to answer any questions you might have and help you feel more at ease with the process, we are happy to sit and go over any concerns.
Cosmetic Tattooing is very safe. All of our tattooing and microblading supplies are single use, so fresh sterile tools are used for each service and a full area sanitation is done prior to each appointment. Making sure you address any possible allergies or ink sensitivities with your artist is important as well as being sure you are vigilant with your aftercare routine.
Permanent makeup does not wash away or smear but it will soften over time. The skins natural rejuvenation will cause gradual fading as cosmetic tattoo ink is placed in the upper layer of skin versus the lower layer like traditional tattoo. UV rays will also cause your cosmetic tattoos to fade so always include sunscreen as part of your daily skincare routine. Invasive facial treatments such as chemical peels and lasers can also effects the longevity of your tattoo so we recommend asking your specialist to avoid those areas during the service. Lighter colors such as blonds or light browns may fade sooner then blacks, this is why touch-ups are recommended every 1-3 years depending on your individual color retention and skin type. With or without cosmetic tattoos we always recommend taking the best care of your skin.
All treatment areas are numbed prior to and throughout your procedure. Though most people do not feel any discomfort, pain thresholds do very from person to person. Your artist will check with you throughout your procedure to ensure your are relaxed and comfortable and we encourage you to communicate with your artist during your procedure.
*Topical Anesthetics contain Lidocaine and Epinephrine. If you have any allergies to these ingredients please let your artist know.
You will be provided with a pre and post care instruction sheet as well as an after care kit containing cleaning solution and after care balm to insure your new tattoo heals perfectly. Your artist will also go over all instructions in depth during your appointment. You may view all of the pre and post care instructions under the Cosmetic Tattoo services page. In the end how you care for your new cosmetic tattoo plays a huge role on the final outcome so we ask that you are diligent in your care routine.
It is highly recommended you schedule your perfecting session before you leave your initial appointment since that price is already included. Perfecting sessions should be scheduled 6-8 weeks out, this gives your skin a chance to heal and your artist the opportunity to make needed fills and corrections. This will also help your new tattoo last longer, up to three years, and give you the perfect final look.
Touch-ups every 1-3 years will help to maintain color and shape. Your skin type, time in the sun, skincare routine, etc. are all factors that will effect how often touch-ups are needed. When booking any touch-ups over 2 years from the initial session or if the initial tattoo was not done by Honey Bee Beauty a photo will be requested at the time of the booking.
Yes, Cosmetic Tattooing can work on all skin types however certain procedures cannot be guaranteed on extremely oily skin. Microblading for example would not be recommended if your brow area is excessively oily, your artist may suggest Powder Brows instead. It is always important to do your research and speak with your artist if you are concerned about your specific skin type.
